What you'll learn

Designed around the UNESCO AI Competency Framework for Students (understand → apply → create) and the EU-OECD AI Literacy Framework. There is a holiday break from 21 December to 3 January.

  1. Month 1Weeks 1-4

    Understand: AI foundations

    • What AI really is - machine learning, neural networks and generative AI in plain language; AI in Ghana and Africa
    • How machines learn - data, patterns, training and bias (train your own image model)
    • Generative AI and large language models - how chatbots work, hallucinations, strengths and limits
    • Prompt engineering I - role, task, context, format · Month 1 Project Demo
  2. Month 2Weeks 5-8

    Apply: AI for productivity and creativity

    • Prompt engineering II - examples, prompt chains, self-critique, custom assistants
    • AI for research and learning - NotebookLM, fact-checking, citations, academic integrity
    • AI for documents and data - writing, summarising, AI in spreadsheets, simple charts
    • AI for visual and multimedia creation - images, slides, audio/video, copyright · Month 2 Project Demo
  3. Month 3Weeks 9-12

    Manage: responsible AI, automation and agents

    • Responsible AI - bias, privacy, Ghana's Data Protection Act, deepfakes and misinformation
    • AI for work, business and careers - customer service, marketing, CVs and interviews
    • No-code automation - connect forms, sheets, AI and email with Zapier, Make or n8n
    • AI agents and custom assistants with a knowledge base · Month 3 Project Demo
  4. Month 4Weeks 13-16

    Create: capstone and AI innovation

    • Design thinking for AI solutions - a real community problem · Capstone pitch
    • Build sprint 1 - a no-code prototype tested with real users
    • Build sprint 2 - evaluation, responsible-AI review and portfolio
    • Demo Day and staying ahead of the AI curve

  • Every module ends with a short Module Check.
  • You answer key questions by recording your voice on the platform - explaining ideas in your own words, as you would to a friend.
  • Projects are presented as short videos (YouTube unlisted or Google Drive) that your tutor watches on the platform.
  • It's how we know you've truly understood - and it builds the confidence to present your ideas anywhere.
